Fabric Hoarder

I'm a fabric hoarder. There I said it.

I come from a family of fabric hoarders, my mom and my sister are both addicts too. To us, there is nothing more magical to us than a fabric shop with all the latest bolts of "textile crack". Lately I've been thinking that I need to start actually sewing something with all this fabric. That would seem like the next logical step, no? I've picked up a few patterns to use to sew some clothes for my daughter. She's only 6, so she still likes what I make for her. So I better take advantage of it before she decides she'll only wear black or clothes made by Limited 2 (ugh!).

Yesterday, I was in the mood to sew, but not to deal a pattern. I wanted a quick, no-brainer project. I decided to whip up a pair of decoupage jeans for her. Well, to be honest, I didn't actually whip up the jeans themselves, I just added the fabric to the jeans. I've seen these around blog land and Etsy, and thought I would give them a try. I had plenty of scraps laying around from other projects so I used those. No pattern required, just lay out the fabric and sew it on. The unfinished edges will fray the more you was them and that is part of the look. What can be easier than that?

Now my son wants a pair. Hmm.... now where's that "Cars" fabric?
